Captain America has been one of the most famous characters of the Marvel comics. Not only that, but Chris Evans’ live action version of Captain America also managed to maintain the dignity of this character and rule fans’ heart throughout the last decade. Although we know that Captain America happily completed his MCU journey in Avengers Endgame, but fans are still hoping if they will ever get to see their favourite character one more time in MCU? So today in this post we will take a look at two theories which suggests some possible situations where Captain America may return back to MCU.

Captain’s Return

Before starting this post I just want you to know that the theories stated below are purely based on permutations, and there are no official evidences regarding them. But, at the end of this post you’ll get to know what Chris Evans thinks about this character’s return in the MCU. So let’s begin.

1) New Avengers

We all Marvel fans know that there will be a movie based on the New Avengers sometime in the future, right? Probably Marvel has already started working on it, as we have already been introduced to characters like Ant-Man’s daughter, Tony Stark’s daughter, Kate Bishop, Harley Keener, etc. Hence it is almost confirmed that we will get to see the New Avengers very soon in the future.

Now this theory says that if Captain America ever returns to MCU again, then it will be as the mentor of the New Avengers. Long ago Marvel launched an animated movie named ‘Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow’ where it was featured that after the death of all other Avengers, the only survived Avenger Tony Stark started mentoring the kids of the Avengers.

So according to this theory, Marvel Studios may bring back the older version of Captain America as the mentor of the next generation New Avengers, just like they did with the old Tony Stark in the animated movie.

2) Multiverse

Not only Avengers Endgame brought all the major characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe together on the same screen, but it also introduced the concept of time travel and creation of Multiverse in the MCU. In the same movie, Ancient One revealed that for the smallest change occurred in the past, it leads to the creation of an alternate timeline.

Now as per this theory, since the Loki from 2012 managed to escape with the Tesseract cube, hence a new timeline has definitely been created. Additionally, the Captain America from this timeline already knows that Bucky is alive, which will absolutely change the entire timeline.

Since many events of this timeline are heavily altered, hence this is highly possible that the events leading to Avengers Endgame will never take place in this timeline, and ultimately Captain America will never return back to Peggy in this timeline. This suggests that may be some day in the future the Captain America from this timeline can manage to travel to our original timeline, and hence we will get our Captain back.

So these were two of the most famous theories regarding the return of Captain America in the MCU. Now let’s check what Chris Evans himself has to say about his return as Captain America in the MCU.

In an interview, Chris said that he doesn’t want Captain America to return back to the MCU again. This is because he thinks that the story of Captain America had a perfect ending in Endgame and it was a very emotional moment for Chris. Hence, if this character returns to MCU again then this special moment will lose its charisma. Hence, according to Chris Evans, his version of Captain America should never return to MCU again.

Yeah, I know this is very sad, but the truth is that for a long time we will not see Steve Roger’s Captain America back in the MCU. But, as the saying goes ‘never say never’, hence we should never lose hope. I hope you liked this post, and if you did then do let us know in the comments below.
