Since the creation of comic books, DC has been one of the top notch publishers of the list. Over the period of time DC has provides us with many legendary characters, let it be superheroes or supervillains. Superman, Batman, Flash and many more are there who have achieved their positions as the best superheroes in the World, and all of them belong to DC. But, on the other hand, DC has created some of the worst characters of the comic book history who were not liked by the fans and hence, they vanished soon from the comics. So in this post, we will discuss about some of the worst characters that DC has produced and we will also discuss the reason why they are hated by the fans.

Useless DC Characters
Before starting this post, please keep in mind that this post is based on a countdown, where each character has been given their respective position based on fan voting of the level of uselessness this character portrays. So let’s begin our countdown.
5) Matter Eater Lad
There would be many of you who would not be knowing about this character. So basically, Matter Eater Lad is a superhero of DC comics just like Superman, who belongs to a different planet named Bismoll. Now if you are wondering about his superpowers, then his name says it all.
The only superpower of this character is that he can eat and digest almost everything that is available around him. Metal logs, chairs, tables, animals, humans, aliens, bullets, tanks, missiles, etc are some of the examples of the things which he can eat and digest. Basically, you can compare it to the Upchuck alien from Ben 10.
But if you see his superpowers from the other perspective, then you can find his superpowers pretty useful at some situations, like imagine in a fight with Darkseid, he starts eating him up. The only catch is that he should be able to manage to digest such powerful entity. Jokes apart, but this character is one of the most useless characters that DC comics has ever produced.
4) The Red Bee
We have seen in many movies as well as comics of DC and Marvel that there are some characters, let it be superhero or supervillain who have no superpowers, but they use cool gadgets which makes them super, like Batman and Iron man. The Red Bee is one such character from the DC comics. Firstly, you can just predict his work or his superpower from his name, just like we have seen in the previous point.
Secondly, what makes this character worse and useless is the gadgets that he uses. Basically, The Red Bee carries a gun with him which is full of honeybees, and whenever he gets involved in a fight he just fires the gun towards his opponent and the honeybees come out and start stinging the foe.
At the time of his debut in the comics in the 70s, this character was pretty popular and people accepted him. But with the passing of time and entry of new and awesome superheroes, the fans started thinking that The Red Bee is old fashioned and hence, he became one of the most hated DC character.

3) Folding Paper Man
This is the first and the only supervillain of our list. If we talk about his superpowers, then his superpowers are more worse than his name. Basically, his only superpower is that he can shrink the thickness of his body up to paper thin level.
Now stop a moment and imagine the use of this superpower. What the hell is it? How is he even dangerous for the mankind? Moreover, what is more heart wrenching is that he was Superman’s villain. Can you imagine a paper fighting against the strongest superhero of DC. Seriously, DC completely messed up with this character and what makes him more useless is that he is the villain of none other than Superman.
2) Color Kid
Many of you may not have even heard of this character, and this is obvious. This is because this character was so much useless that he received a lot of hate from the fans and ultimately he vanished from the comics, and this character deserved that.
This is the most illogical superhero of DC. Basically, the superpower of this character is that he can change the color of almost everything around him. He can turn blue to red, green to yellow, black to white and many more permutations and combinations that you could imagine. God knows what the writers consumed before creating such a character.

1) Friendly Fire
Finally we have the character who is voted as the most useless character of the entire DC universe. You can just predict it from his name that why he is the most useless character. But still if you didn’t understand why he is hated so much then just keep reading. Basically, he is a superhero who shoots flames from his hands.
At this point you may think that what is odd about this superpower as many superheroes can shoot flame from their hands. But what makes Friendly Fire different from other characters is that his flames will always hit the person he likes, like his friends and teammates in a battle. It is hard to understand the logic behind creating this character who only attacks his friends and still is called a superhero.
This character no more exists in the comics, and the way of his death was hilarious. Once he shot himself with his flames when he started liking himself very much, like we all so at some point of time.
