Throughout the movies of the MCU, we have encountered a lot of characters with many different qualities. Some are strong while some are smart, some are heroes while some are villains, but all these types of characters are important at their own place to create a successful universe like that of MCU. In this article we will be discussing only about some of the smartest characters of MCU. Which characters according to you are worthy of making their position to this list of Top ten. Smartest MCU Characters
Before starting the list, let me inform you that this list is a countdown list where we have ranked the characters from low to high in terms of their smartness. This list may be different for yours, but this list is based on all the facts issued by MCU. Also, note that we have created this list by taking every type of characters of MCU into consideration, and not just superheroes. With that being informed, let’s jump into our list.
10) Doctor Strange
Let’s start our list with the Master of Mystic Arts, Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange possesses adaptive memory, which means that he is able to remember anything just by one glance or by reading it only once. He doesn’t need to keep reading his spells all the time. Once he sees or reads any mantra, it gets stuck inside his mind and he recalls it easily whenever it is required. This may be the dream super power of every student.
Also, we must consider that Doctor Strange was smart long before becoming the Sorcerer Supreme. As mentioned in his movie, he had completed two degrees at the same time. Also after he reaches Kamar-Taj, he manages to easily read and memorize the difficult spells which were in Vedic Sanskrit, one of the oldest and hardest language in the World.
9) Howard Stark
If you don’t know about him, then let me clarify that Howard Stark is Tony’s father and the best mechanical engineer of the world of his time. He was one of the major brains involved in the creation of Captain America.
Not only this, but when Tony Stark was dying out of an untreatable Palladium poisoning in Iron Man 2 movie, then he eventually finds that his father had already found the cure for this poisoning in his time, but due to the limitation of the technology at that time he was unable to physically create it. Hence he left behind the atomic structure of the solution for Tony, which Tony uses later and cures himself.
8) Nick Fury
In MCU, the character of Nick Fury is portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson. Nick Fury can be said as the foundation of the MCU, because he was the one who started the Avengers Initiative. Nick Fury may not be one of the most intelligent person of MCU, but he definitely is a very smart person who always keeps a backup plan for every situation.
Nick Fury is also a very good technician of MCU, which is proved in the scene where Nick Fury defeats an entire batch of police officers single handedly with very less resources in the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
7) Thanos
It is not possible that we are talking about the Marvel cinematic universe and we doesn’t include the Mad Titan in the list. The Thanos of MCU is very different from that of the comic books. In comics, Thanos is just a mad man who has a desire for power, but in the MCU, Thanos is a visionary who wants to save the universe.
You can figure out his level of smartness from the fact that he was the only person of his planet who came up with a solution for the problem of decreasing resources, for which he was punished and debarred. Thanos may be a villain, but if we talk about his character alone then he probably is a very smart guy.
6) Peter Parker
The Peter Parker of MCU is just 16 years old and still his intellect is far ahead of any other person of his age. Peter created his first web shooters at the age of 14, that too with scraps and waste electronic components. Not only this, but he also used his smartness to knock out Ebony Maw in Infinity War, who was probably a very strong character of Thanos’ team.
Also, he created a new and high tech suit for himself in a plane in Far from Home movie. Peter also possesses quick learning ability which is portrayed at many different situations throughout different Spiderman movies.
5) Bruce Banner
There is no doubt that Bruce Banner is one of the smartest characters of Marvel comics, but in terms of his level of smartness in the MCU, he comes at no. 5 of our list. This is because Bruce Banner’s character is not developed so well in MCU, because of his alter ego Hulk, who is mainly the centre of attention in the movies. In terms of academic front, Bruce Banner of MCU has achieved seven PHDs, which is definitely not an easy task by any means. Also, Bruce Banner helped Tony Stark in creating Ultron and also in transferring Jarvis’ intelligence to Vision’s body.
4) Rocket Racoon
The first words that pop up in our minds when we think about Rocket racoon are ‘Dangerous’ and ‘Badass’. But if you have been following him since the beginning of his journey in MCU, then you must have observed that he definitely is very smart too. The second point to notice is that Rocket doesn’t belong to any super smart alien race, he’s just a mutated Racoon, but still his level of smartness and intelligence surpasses many other races. Rocket Racoon is one of the very few characters who is able create a planet destroying weapon just from scrap and junk.
Not only this, but Rocket can also understand Groot’s language without undergoing any formal training, whereas even the almighty Thor required proper formal training in order to understand the Groot language.
3) Hank Pym
The comic readers would definitely know that how smart this character is in the comics, and this is the same for movies too. He is a world class Physicist as well as an Entomologist too. His smartness level can be judged from the fact that he is the person who has discovered the Pym particles in the MCU, which no one has ever thought of. Also, Hank Pym is the person who discovered that we can do inter-dimensional traveling via the Quantum realm. He has also invented the Ant-man suit which can either increase or decrease the size of the user, and in addition, he has also invented a gadget with which he can communicate with ants.
2) Shuri
Shuri definitely deserves this position. This is because she is the only reason behind the technological advancement of Wakanda. She has also created a lot of unimaginable gadgets from Vibranium, which no one could ever imagine of. This also includes the awesome Black Panther suit of T’Challa.
Not only this, but she has also accomplished some almost impossible tasks like deprogramming Bucky and curing Everett Ross’ cureless injury. Also, in Infinity war when everyone decided to take out the Mind Stone from Vision’s forehead, then Captain America brought him to none other than Shuri.
1) Tony Stark
Tony Stark was the first superhero of MCU. In terms of the level of smartness, he has left his father Howard Stark long behind. He has created many different armours with different functions throughout his MCU journey, and every new suit he created was better than the previous one.
He had also created some advanced artificial intelligences like Jarvis, Friday, Ultron, Vision and Edith. Also, he had created the Hulk Buster armour, which resulted as one of the very few things that could stop the Hulk.
Since the Black Panther movie of 2018, this has always been a hot debate that Shuri is smarter than Tony Stark. Some people believe it, some people don’t. But according to logic, Tony Stark would definitely be smarter than Shuri.
Yes, I agree that Shuri has created a lot of gadgets for Wakanda from Vibranium, but when we see Tony Stark, then this man created a high technological suit in a cave, with scarp materials. There is no doubt that Tony was always the smartest person in the MCU.
