Seven Kingdoms

Before jumping to our list, let me first provide a brief history of the creation of the seven kingdoms. So basically, a long time ago there was only one kingdom on the surface world. But due to a gigantic explosion during an experiment the entire kingdom got divided into seven pieces and all of them sunk into the ocean throughout the world.

After that, the residents of the seven kingdoms started evolving themselves according to their surrounding and habitat for more than thousand years. As all the kingdoms had different habitats, hence the residents of the respective kingdoms also developed differently both physically and mentally. So let’s now move on to our list, where you will get a more detailed perspective about this.

1) Atlantis

This is the kingdom which we know the most about. This kingdom was first featured in the Justice League movie and later in the Aquaman movie.

Basically, the Atlantians didn’t change their appearance throughout their evolution period, but rather they developed the powers to survive under water with the help of their technology. Some of the Atlantians are superior to others like Arthur, Orm and queen Atlanna, who have the ability to survive outside water as well.

But some other Atlantians don’t have the same ability and they use technology to do the same. Atlantis is the most developed nation among the seven kingdoms and due to this they are the strongest ones too. The soldiers of Atlantis ride on Sharks.

2) Xebel

Basically, this kingdom is almost similar to that of Atlantis, but the only difference is that the technological development of Xebel is not as advanced as compared to that of Atlantis.

On the other hand, some people of Xebel possess superhuman abilities, like Mera controls the flow of water. Yes, Mera comes from this kingdom. The soldiers of Xebel ride on sea horses. In the movie, it was shown that the king of Xebel, king Nereus wanted her daughter Mera to marry king Orm of Atlantis so that both of the kingdoms could conquer the seven seas together and destroy the surface world.

3) Fisherman

This is the third most developed kingdom after Atlantis and Xebel. The Fishermen are the most peaceful creatures among the seven kingdoms. Due to evolution, the appearance of Fishermen looks like a mermaid.

The Fisherman kingdom basically consists of researchers and scientists. In the movie, we saw that the king of Fisherman kingdom refused to work with Orm, as Orm didn’t believe in peace. But after Orm kills the king, her daughter agrees to support him in the war against the surface world.

4) Trench

The Trench kingdom is situated in the deepest and darkest place under the sea. As the creatures of Trench live thousands of feet under water, therefore they cannot withstand light.

Also, this is the only kingdom where the residents got worse than what they were before. Before going under water they used to look like us humans, but after living so many years in the Trench these creatures turned into literal monsters.

In the movie we saw that the creatures of the Trench attacked Arthur and Mera as well when they went there in search of the Trident. Also, the creatures of the Trench only follow the orders of the person who holds king Atlan’s Trident.

5) Deserters

At present, there are no residents in this kingdom. This kingdom lies in the present day Sahara desert in Africa.

Once upon a time, the Deserters kingdom was also like any other kingdom, where people were exceptional in forging. In fact king Atlan’s trident was forged in this place. But as ages passed, and the temperature started rising, the residents of this kingdom found it very hard to survive and hence they went extinct.

In the movie we saw Arthur and Mera travelling to this kingdom too, where they got the clue for the location of the Trident.

6) Brine

The creatures of the Brine kingdom evolved in a weird way. Their consciousness remained similar to humans but their bodies mutated drastically throughout the thousands of years under water.

Their bodies looks like crabs and lobsters. These are the strongest creatures among the seven kingdoms in terms of their physical strength.

In the movie, we got a clear look of their strength when during the climax scene the Brine kingdom faced the Atlantians, Xebel and Fisherman kingdoms combined. As a matter of fact, Arthur interfered their fight and we didn’t get to know the exact strength of the Brine creatures.

7) Lost Kingdom

This is the final kingdom in our list and the most mysterious one too. This kingdom is not mentioned anywhere in the movie as well as the comics, only its name exists.

Many people believe that the place from where Arthur got Atlan’s Trident is the Lost Kingdom, but it is not the case as confirmed by the writers themselves.
